The US Secretary of State has made a flying visit to Qatar, a week after Israel attacked a meeting of Hamas’ negotiating team in Doha.
Marco Rubio has met Qatar’s PM and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Qatar says they discussed the repercussions of the attack on the war in Gaza as well as securing the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Nawaf Bin Mubarak Al Thani, a political analyst and Qatar’s former defence attache to the US, Canada and Mexico, said the attack “does not affect where Qatar stands with the US” and blamed Israel-affiliated media for bringing such concerns to the fore.
