Amjad Rass, a doctor and board member of the Syrian American Medical Society, joins Al Jazeera’s live from Detroit. He reflects on his experience of being unable to return to Syria since 2010 after being placed on a terrorist list due to his medical relief and advocacy work. Recently, he revisited Syria for the first time since the fall of the Assad regime, describing a mix of happiness, apprehension, and fear for the country’s future.
