Brazilian Indigenous activists continue push for land rights amid Amazon highway protests

Indigenous activists in Brazil have lifted their blockade of the Trans-Amazonian Highway — a key grain transport route through the rainforest — but their demonstrations persist. The protests, ongoing since March 25, are meant to pressure the Supreme Court to overturn a 2023 law that restricts Indigenous land rights.
