Fighting in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo continues as M23 rebels and their allies advance, seizing control of Bukavu, the provincial capital of South Kivu. Heavy clashes have disrupted daily life, forcing many residents to flee. Ports along Lake Kivu have just reopened after weeks of closure due to violence.
