The European Union has lifted all sanctions on Syria, to help the war-torn country recover, following the toppling of the Assad regime in December.
Foreign ministers from the bloc’s 27 member states struck the agreement during a meeting in Brussels.
The move follows a similar move by US President Donald Trump to lift sanctions on Syria, that was announced in Saudi Arabia last week.
