Gabon presidential election ends as polling stations close across the country

Polling stations have closed across Gabon in the country’s presidential elections — the first since a military coup ended decades of rule by the Bongo family in 2023. Voters turned out to cast their ballots in a pivotal vote that could determine the future of civilian governance in the nation.
