Authorities and aid agencies are struggling to contain a malnutrition crisis in northern Nigeria where hundreds of children have died of malnutrition in Katsina state in the first half of this year.
Budget cuts have forced the World Food Programme to suspend life-saving aid to more than 1.3 million people.
