In Istanbul, thousands joined a major solidarity march that began at the Hagia Sophia and stretched toward the Golden Horn, where boats flew Palestinian and Turkish flags in protest against Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.
The demonstration combined both land and sea rallies, reflecting widespread outrage over Israel’s attacks and the blockade of Gaza. Protesters called for Muslim unity and international accountability, while chanting “Down with Israeli apartheid.”
The protest coincided with global outrage over Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud aid flotilla, fuelling calls in Turkey for stronger international action.
