During an interview with award-winning journalist Danyel Smith of Rolling Stone, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith was asked about his infamous Ray Rice domestic violence comments, and instead of owning up to his shortcomings, he threw former ESPN colleague Michelle Beadle under the bus and blamed her for turning it into a bigger deal than he thought was warranted, even going so far as to contradict his previous apology back by reaffirming that he believes he did nothing wrong and his suspension went overboard.
