US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ended his Panama visit by overseeing deportations of undocumented migrants. He emphasised cooperation with regional allies to curb migration and deter traffickers. Panama offered to expand efforts by facilitating a small airport in the Darién Gap for US deportations, though its president insists it will be civilian-run. The US will fund the project entirely. Rubio did not address concerns over White House threats regarding alleged Chinese influence over the Panama Canal.
