Yosemite faces staffing crisis as us national parks suffer layoffs

US federal workforce reductions have left national parks struggling, with Yosemite National Park among the hardest hit. Thousands of federal employees are losing their jobs as the Trump administration moves to downsize the government. Among them are park rangers and maintenance staff responsible for the upkeep of over 400 national parks across the country. Conservationists fear that fewer employees will impact essential services, from trail maintenance to wildfire prevention.
