A complete of 56 inmates at a northern Mexico jail have been injured in a riot that authorities say was sparked by prisoners extorting cash from others
MEXICO CITY — A riot erupted inside a northern Mexico jail over prisoners making an attempt to extort cash from others and 56 inmates had been inured, authorities stated Saturday.
Officers stated the riot started Friday on the Apodaca jail, simply exterior the town of Monterrey.
Aldo Fasci, the general public security secretary for Nuevo Leon state, stated that the accidents had been all attributable to beatings and that no firearms had been concerned.
“There have been no firearms, all of the accidents had been attributable to blows, The top wounds had been attributable to blunt objects, both rocks or in some instances by (smashing them) on the ground,” Fasci stated.
He stated many inmates on the jail work in industrial crops and are normally paid on Friday. He stated at the very least 5 gangs are extorting cash from different inmates inside jail partitions.
Authorities acknowledge that inmates have been in partial management of the ability.
