Officers in Iceland confirmed the eruption of a volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula, positioned southwest of the capital Reykjavik, on the night of March 19. This footage, taken by a Coast Guard plane and launched by the Icelandic Meteorological Workplace, reveals the eruption within the Geldingardalur Valley space on Reykjanes Peninsula. The eruption didn’t come as a shock. In current weeks, an uptick in seismic exercise has been monitored within the space, resulting in expectations of an eruption.
