Police stated individuals have been killed when offended followers invaded the soccer pitch after a match at Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, East Java, late on Saturday.
Authorities stated the violence stemmed from clashes between supporters of two Indonesian soccer groups.
Preventing between supporters of the 2 rival groups have been reported contained in the stadium after the Indonesian Premier League recreation ended with Persebaya Surabaya beating Arema Malang 3-2.
“Within the incident, 127 individuals died, two of whom are law enforcement officials,” East Java police chief Nico Afinta stated in an announcement on Sunday.
