Coastguard rescue groups, the RNLI and paramedics have been scrambled to the East Sussex cliffside following the incident at 9.15am on Sunday.
The casualty, reported by the Brighton Argus to be a base jumper whose parachute didn’t totally open, was winched as much as a search and rescue helicopter.
A Coastguard spokeswoman mentioned the bottom jumper was then airlifted to hospital.
“A 999 name was obtained at 9.15am at present reporting an injured particular person at Beachy Head”, she mentioned.
“The Coastguard rescue groups from Eastbourne, Birling Hole and Newhaven, the RNLI lifeboat from Eastbourne, the search and rescue helicopter from Lydd and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene.
“The casualty was winched by the search and rescue helicopter and airlifted to Brighton Hospital the place they have been handed into the care of medical workers.”
