Tokyo-based worldwide artwork collective teamLab (beforehand) returns with one other interactive exhibition titled teamLab: Steady, this time taking the expertise outdoor.
Sitting among the many hustle and bustle of Hong Kong, “Resonating Life which Continues to Stand” is an abundance of egg-shaped buildings overlaying the wedge of grass that makes Tamar Park. Softly radiating myriad hues into the darkness of night time, the set up calls to the ebb and movement of human emotion and nature in distinction to the stiff, unmoving disposition of the buildings surrounding the work.
Extending from land to sea, every glowing ovoid responds to the touch and motion. When pushed over by wind, waves, or human pressure, the resilient types rise and alter colours, triggering a series response with neighboring sculptures and alluding to how people and nature are affected by their environments. That is particularly evident within the bobbing buildings partially submerged within the sea, that are always shifted by the marine circumstances. Collectively, every distinct element creates an illuminating dialog between viewers, their environment, and the physicality of the work itself.
teamLab: Steady additionally contains “Resonating Timber” and is on view till June 2.
