Joseph “Dusty” Hill, the long-bearded bassist for the blues-rock band ZZ High, has died on the age of 72.
“We’re saddened by the information at the moment that our compadre, Dusty Hill, has handed away in his sleep at residence in Houston, Texas,” the trio’s surviving members, Frank Beard and Billy Gibbons, stated in a press release Wednesday.
“We, together with the legions of ZZ High followers all over the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring dedication to offering that monumental backside to the ‘High.’ We’ll ceaselessly be related to that ‘Blues Shuffle in C.’ You can be missed drastically, amigo.”
The reason for his loss of life was not instantly launched.

Hill was a member of the Texas trio for greater than 50 years, relationship again to shortly after their formation in 1969. He performed with ZZ High repeatedly for the rest of his life, up till a hip damage pressured him to bow out of their 2021-22 tour of North America final week.
