In a really thrilling showdown, a pod of hippos took on a bask of crocodiles within the Kruger Nationwide Park.
Fortunate safari-goer Chase Kurucz witnessed and captured the weird sighting on the Gezanftombi Dam, when the crocodiles attacked a wildebeest and dragged it into the water. Then, the close by hippos intervened, surrounding the crocs and permitting the wildebeest a chance to get away from the hazard.
It’s tough to pinpoint the precise purpose why the hippos would intervene. It would merely be that they didn’t like being disturbed by the commotion the beating crocodiles had been inflicting. One other risk could possibly be that they’d younger close by, making them aggressive and protecting, though we don’t see any calves within the footage.
