An out-of-control bushfire is threatening lives and houses north-east of Margaret River.
A watch and act alert has been issued for the blaze which began within the area of Treeton, 11km east of Cowaramup and about 25km from the vacationer haven of Margaret River.
The warning covers an space bounded by Osmington Street, Bell and Stuart Roads, Jindong-Treeton Street and Nice North Street and is on the sting of state forests, together with Blackwood Forest and North East Margaret River Forest.
Firefighters and aerial crews are on the scene however the Division of Fireplace and Emergency Companies warns the hearth just isn’t managed or contained.
“There’s a attainable risk to lives and houses as a hearth is approaching within the space and circumstances are altering,” a DFES alert stated.
