Three mates from Liverpool have arrived on the Poland-Ukraine border to ship important objects to these fleeing the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Brendan Wyatt, proprietor of the well-known Transalpino store, Robin Grime, and Rado Chmiel set off on the 1,400-mile journey earlier this week, arriving on Wednesday.
The lads drove through Czech Republic, the place former Liverpool participant Vladimir Smicer donated two rooms at his resort for the evening.
Rado is a ‘Polish Scouser’, having lived within the metropolis for 16 years and dealing as a translator – together with translating Jerzy Dudek’s autobiography.
The trio have to this point raised over £6,500 and have been shopping for important objects domestically to take to the refugee level on the border.
“Once we arrived on the transit refugee level in my hometown Rzeszów and defined what we’ve accomplished to this point with the donations, we have been welcomed with open arms,” explains Rado.
“The world is small as this camp is being run by a pal from the neighbourhood the place I grew up, Agnieszka.
“We went then straight to the money and carry and began to purchase issues for them.”
The trio have visited a disused procuring centre that’s now housing over 500 girls and kids (see video above).
Rado explains: “After I went into the camp, a little bit woman aged possibly two or three years previous was blowing bubbles. She was filled with pleasure and smiles. It burst me in tears.”
* You can also make a donation on the ‘Ex Participant’ web site, right here – objects are being purchased domestically in Poland and delivered to refuge factors on the border.
