MEPs have criticised the Slovenian authorities over its “assaults, smear campaigns, and slander” towards journalists, saying it had created a “local weather of hostility, mistrust and deep polarisation”. Thursday’s non-binding decision didn’t point out prime minister Janez Janša, who has personally insulted reporters on social media. However it was a humiliation for his nation within the final days of its EU presidency.
