Practically 50 junta troopers surrendered to an ethnic armed group in southern Myanmar, its political wing introduced on Tuesday
The Karen Nationwide Union’s armed department, the Karen Nationwide Liberation Military, intercepted junta troops in Tanintharyi area’s Myeik township.
Commander Lieutenant Colonel Aung Hein, main the junta’s Myeik-based Infantry Battalion 103, surrendered to the Karen military’s Brigade 4, in accordance with an announcement from the Karen Nationwide Union. The Karen Nationwide Liberation Military intercepted 48 troops on their method again to regroup in Htee Hta Byu Har junta camp on Monday, whereas six junta troopers had been killed within the assault.
The group started preventing for territory in Tanintharyi in November 2022. This victory marks a primary for the Karen Nationwide Liberation Military’s successes within the area, a spokesman for KNLA allies the Myeik District Revolutionary Drive informed RFA.
