A brand new ebook from Wall Avenue Journal reporter Michael C. Bender alleges that Mike Pence praised former Trump advisor Gary Cohn for blowing up on the president over his response to Charlottesville.
President Donald Trump had gained the ire of Cohn for saying that there have been “very effective folks” on each side of the controversy between individuals who wished to take away the Robert E. Lee statue and the individuals who wished to maintain it.
An excerpt of Bender’s ebook, “Frankly We Did Win This Election’: The Inside Story of How Donald Trump Misplaced,” was revealed in Politico Journal on Friday. In it, he describes a confrontation between Cohn and the president.
“Gary Cohn, the president’s prime financial adviser—and a registered Democrat—was much more despondent. Raised Jewish on the East Aspect of Cleveland and a longtime New York resident, he stood subsequent to Trump for the infrastructure information convention and grew more and more alarmed and uncomfortable. Later, in a non-public assembly contained in the Oval Workplace, Cohn unloaded on the president,” the excerpt says.

The creator continued on to write down, “Cohn advised Trump that his lack of readability had been dangerous to the nation and that he’d put an unbelievable quantity of stress on folks working within the White Home. He advised Trump that he may need to give up. Nobody backed Cohn up. Others within the room, together with Pence, remained quiet.”
“Cohn returned to his workplace after the assembly broke up. Following a couple of minutes behind, Pence climbed the flight of stairs and appeared on the threshold of Cohn’s door,” the ebook claims. “‘I’m pleased with you,’ Pence advised him, safely out of earshot of the president.”
