A quartet of Asian delivery powerhouses have received the following tranche of enterprise within the large QatarEnergy fleet growth challenge.
A consortium comprising Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (Ok Line) from Japan, Malaysia’s MISC and China LNG Delivery, the Cosco/China Retailers three way partnership, have ordered 5 174,000 cu m LNG carriers at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China. The ships will ship from 2025, going into 2026.
In August, the identical Asian grouping ordered seven 174,000 cu m LNG carriers at Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea, additionally for the Qatar challenge.
