A suspect has been arrested after three individuals have been injured in a “main incident” at a faculty in Wales, police say.
Dyfed-Powys Police stated the victims have been being handled for accidents at Amman Valley College in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.
Police didn’t disclose what occurred, the character of the accidents or why the alleged suspect was arrested.
The varsity was closed.
“We’d ask that folks don’t speculate whereas there’s a police investigation ongoing,” police stated in an announcement.
A faculty governor stated she had been informed the incident was a stabbing, with members of employees injured.
Wales First Minister Vaughan Gething stated he was “shocked to listen to” in regards to the “critical incident” whereas United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak thanked police and emergency companies attending the scene.
He additionally thanked the police and ambulance crews for his or her response.
David TC Davies, the Secretary of State for Wales, described an incident at a faculty in Ammanford as “deeply regarding”.
Davies stated: “The information rising from Ammanford this afternoon is deeply regarding.”
Amman Valley College, or Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, is a bilingual complete college for these aged between 11 and 18.
In an interview with WalesOnline, Karen Davies – a governor on the college – stated she had been informed the incident concerned a stabbing.
Davies stated she didn’t know whether or not any youngsters had been injured.
“I’ve been informed somebody has been arrested and that two members of employees have been stabbed however don’t have any affirmation on how critical the accidents are,” she informed WalesOnline.
