he Metropolitan Police say they’re assessing a video which seems to indicate Piers Corbyn calling for MPs’ workplaces to be burned down.
The video shared on social media exhibits the brother of former Labour chief Jeremy Corbyn criticising politicians who voted for Covid restrictions.
After decrying “these scum who’ve determined to go forward with introducing new fascism”, the 73-year-old Mr Corbyn tells a crowd within the video: “You’ve bought to get a listing of them … and in case your MP is one in all them, go to their workplaces and, properly, I’d suggest burning them down, OK. However I can’t say that on air. I hope we’re not on air.”
A Met Police spokesman stated in a press release: “We’re conscious of a video on social media through which individuals had been inspired to burn down MP’s workplaces. It’s being assessed and enquiries are ongoing.”
