Russia attacks Kyiv: At least three killed in Ukrainian capital

At least three people have been killed in a Russian attack on central Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district. The assault caused fires in several cars and damaged a metro station and a water pipeline. Falling debris struck a neighboring district, further escalating the destruction. Ukrainian forces report shooting down two missiles and 24 drones during the attack. Meanwhile, Russia claims it targeted a rocket manufacturing facility. The strikes underscore the escalating violence in Ukraine’s capital as residents contend with a growing sense of insecurity.

Al Jazeera’s Jonah Hull reports from Kyiv.
