A ship struck a bridge that crosses Baltimore’s harbor, the U.S. Coast Guard mentioned early Tuesday.
The crash, on the Francis Scott Key Bridge, was confirmed by Matthew West, a petty officer first-class for the Coast Guard in Baltimore. He didn’t specify the kind of ship or say when it hit the bridge.
The extent of the harm to the bridge, which is a part of Interstate 695, was not instantly clear on Tuesday morning. The Baltimore Police didn’t reply to a request for remark.
It is a growing story.
