Protesters indignant over Israel’s conflict on Gaza have gathered at Sorbonne College in Paris, chanting “Free Palestine” on the college’s gates whereas some college students arrange tents within the courtyard.
Days after comparable protests on the elite Paris Institute of Political Research (Sciences Po), Monday’s gathering on the Sorbonne was the most recent signal that demonstrations on United States campuses had been spilling over to Europe as Israel’s devastating conflict on Gaza is in its seventh month.
The protests had been peaceable as college students urged the establishment – one of many world’s oldest universities – to sentence Israel’s actions.
