Three crew members on board a supersonic Tupolev Tu-22M3 Backfire bomber have died in a horror incident at Shaikovka army airfield within the Kaluga area, on Tuesday.
“An ejection system malfunctioned throughout a deliberate preparation on the bottom for a Tu-22M3 flight at an airfield within the Kaluga area,” the defence ministry mentioned.
Three crew members obtained deadly accidents because of the “inadequate top to deploy parachutes,” the defence ministry mentioned in a press release carried by Russian information businesses.

A state fee has been despatched to the scene close to town of Kaluga some 190 kilometres (120 miles) southwest of the capital Moscow to examine the bomber and look into the explanations of the accident.
The Tu-22M3 is a Soviet-era supersonic, variable-sweep wing, long-range strategic and maritime strike bomber developed by the Tupolev Design Bureau within the Nineteen Sixties.
