The pinnacle of the Slovenian Press Company (STA), Bojan Veselinovič, resigned Thursday in a row on cuts in workers and authorities funding, amid Slovenian prime minister Janez Janša’s wider assault on unbiased press. Janša has referred to as the STA a “nationwide shame” and described some girls journalists as “prostitutes”. “We mentioned that the state of affairs was critical, at the moment we are able to say that it’s alarming,” the Slovenian Journalists’ Affiliation mentioned.
