Two members of the Defence Forces have been taken to hospital following an incident throughout a routine parachute show staff train on Thursday.
The incident occurred because the parachute show staff members have been touchdown by parachute on the Defence Forces bases on the Curragh, Co Kildare.
In a press release on Thursday evening the Defence Forces press workplace confirmed “two personnel sustained accidents on touchdown throughout routine parachute show staff coaching as we speak within the Defence Forces Coaching Centre”.
“The accidents sustained have been non-life threatening and each personnel have been transferred to hospital by Defence Forces Ambulance and are in a secure situation”.
The parachute show staff includes of members from all ranks and providers of the Defence Forces, everlasting and reserve.
An investigation into the incident has begun in keeping with Defence Forces operational procedures.
