Important flooding in Gorey and Courtown in Co Wexford on Thursday night has resulted in a number of roads being closed.
Wexford County Council warned that some roads had been impassable because of the flooding and that water had entered some enterprise premises.
“All through the night emergency crews and as much as 10 hearth tenders, together with two from Wicklow, have been working to attempt to relieve the worst affected areas,” a press release from the council mentioned.
In the meantime, gardaí issued a site visitors alert for some roads within the county. The M11 between Junction 22 and Junction 23 had been closed in each instructions on account of flooding.
Photographs on social media confirmed automobiles partly submerged in inches of water on some roads within the county after the extreme flooding.
The M11 north and southbound has since reopened, nevertheless, the hyperlink highway from Courtown Street to M11 stays impassable and is more likely to stay closed till Friday, the council mentioned.
